Legacy Stainless Steel Drinkware Use & Care
Cleaning
Wash any new Tervis product before using it for the first time. Do not soak your legacy stainless steel product. Do not use abrasive sponges or scouring pads when cleaning, as they could scratch the steel and Tervis design. We recommend a good-old fashioned soft sponge, mild dish detergent and a little elbow grease.
Not Dishwasher Safe
Never put your legacy stainless steel product (drinkware with lowercase "tervis" logo (purchased before January 9th, 2023) in a dishwasher, microwave, stove or freezer as harsh temperatures could disable the insulation properties. Washing your Legacy Drinkware in the dishwasher may also damage the design, which is not covered under the 5-Year Limited Guarantee.
Chemicals
Never use bleach- or chlorine-based cleaners to wash your stainless steel drinkware.
Rust
Our stainless steel is 18/8 grade and rarely rusts. But if you notice an issue, use baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) or a stainless steel cleaner (e.g. Bar Keepers Friend) to clean and protect the affected areas.
Microwave
Do not microwave stainless steel products.
It is a safety hazard to place metal in a microwave. Never put your stainless steel product in a microwave.
